Service · Line Locating
Know where the line runs before the shovel goes in.
Surface-mark the exact path and depth of a buried sewer or drain lateral. Camera-and-sonde precision. No guessing, no surprise digs.
- Surface marked
- No exploratory trenching
- Sonde + locator

What you get
811 marks public utilities. Locating marks your private lateral.
Illinois 811 is the free call-before-you-dig service that marks public utilities up to your meter. But the sewer line that runs from the building to the city main is private, and 811 won't mark it. That's the line you don't want to find with a shovel.
- Before excavation for a sewer repair
- Before a deck, addition, or pool excavation
- Before tree planting or large tree removal near the line
- Before fence post installation
- Before driveway replacement or patio work
- For Realtors documenting lateral location as part of a closing file
How a visit goes
Three steps. No mystery.
Camera in the line.
We run the sewer camera with the locating sonde in the head from the cleanout out to the city main. The sonde transmits a signal the above-ground locator tracks.
Locate above ground.
We walk the path with the locator, marking the surface with paint at intervals and at each important feature: tees, joints, transitions. We note approximate depth at each mark.
You get a usable map.
Marks are clear enough for your excavator, landscaper, or contractor to dig with confidence. We'll annotate a photo or sketch on request if you need it for a project file.
